Appointment Confirmation Email/Placholders that Work for Contacts

A Confirmation email is sent to us, but not to our clientele when they schedule an appointment with us. I would like for this to be done automatically, but if not, even allowing the placeholders for the appointment to work if I create my own email when an appointment options is attached to a form I create.
The place holders only work for us and not when sending an email to a contact. In the screenshot, you will see where I attempted to create my own email with the same placholders used in the auto-email that comes to me, but they did not work.
