Expense tracking and Profit/Loss Report

Avatar

SuiteDash claims to be a FreshBooks replacement. But, I see no area where I can document expenses and submit photos of business receipts. SuiteDash already keeps track of my profits through invoice sales. Why not allow me to add my expenses and take pictures of my receipts on the go? Then you could show a Profit/Loss report giving us an idea of how we are doing financially. A feature where I could keep track of my mileage could be helpful as well since that is considered a deductible expense on your taxes.

Adding expenses (upload receipts, etc) would be the ONE THING that's needed to make this a complete solution for my business. Please let me know when this is coming, as my Freshbooks license is WAY overpriced for only expense tracking/receipt upload. Thanks.

HI Andrew, this feature is in active development but as you can imagine is a big feature to implement and test. We are not able to provide an hard date on the release on this at this time.

Yes please!

The ability to produce accurate P&L reports in real time would be a HUGE improvement for SuiteDash, especially if it came with the ability to run more granular reports to as part of an overall expense and vendor management module.

For example, SD already has integrated timers to track billable hours. However, when I bring in a contractor to work on projects for me, I don't always have a client to pass those costs on to. It would be great if we could use the same timer function to track "payable hours" and use them to create reports that document:
1. how much we own our hourly employees or outside contractors
2. how much of that time & cost can be attributed to client work (and billed for) and how much to attribute to company overhead.
3. Total compensation owed to employees, vendors, and other partners for dates worked or expenses incurred, amounts paid, and remaining payments outstanding.

Ideally this would also come with features that allow us to track and report on other kinds of expenses such as revenue sharing agreements, product licensing fees, or affiliate marketing payouts.

These features cannot come fast enough!

This is listed as in progress, but there's no corresponding mention on the roadmap. Is this still happening? Is there an ETA? It would be FANTASTIC to have this feature so I can stop using alternative tools completely.

I would love to have a forecast view, but perhaps this is too much to ask?

YES PLEASE!! I despise quickbooks - it's over complicated for my setup and over priced - I need recurring expenses AND profit/Loss statements - OR just integrate directly with Freshbooks or other simplified accounting options. WE need more options!

Can we also add our debit and credit cards so that we can confirm which ones are actual business expanse whenever we have an expanse? Then we can drag and drop the expanse to our tax spreadsheet and profit and loss report?

FreshBooks has bank download and easy receipt attachment which is required for invoicing expenses to clients. Hopefully this is being added

That's a massive API addition, and I would LOVE it, but if SD could just let us record our expenses to start off it would be terrific.

This bank API addition would a GAME CHANGER.

Totally agree - the ability to import our biz visa and attach expenses to clients (and add receipt to invoice) is key.

Same as my comment on "Advanced Forms." There are many things about SD I like so far, but for the life of me, I have done plenty of DBA work, and cannot figure out why simple reporting was not in the 1.0 release of this platform (select * from timers where username ='name' and date between 'd1' and 'd2') -- simple. I foresee A LOT (!!!) of manual work with SD to summarize data. Please add some reporting tools!
