Sticky Formatting bar

Make formatting bar sticky.

Users need to be able to view formatting bar when working on long text. This should be universal feature in all areas where text input (with formatting bar) is an option.

It's frustrating to write a long contract and do any formatting because I can't see the formatting bar when working on long text.

Currently, if I want to make a word formatted with H2 I need to highlight the word, scroll to top, click format area for H2. I can not see the word at this point.

Sometimes the cursor is no longer on the word and when I scroll back down I see my formatting did not take place and I have to repeat the process.

Just to add to this @Noel & @Mike, slash commands at the start of a new line or block, like in Notion, would be for me THE ULTIMATE addition to any page creation, tasks, projects, portals, LMS, etc.

See attachment for Notion's approach.
e.g. if I type '/' I get a list of commands for new blocks that I can insert,: headings h1-h6, text, image, video, links, internal links, to-do lists, code blocks. etc. Plain text is the default of course if no slash command is initiated and the user just begins to type. And, once any text is added, the formatting bar only appears once the text is highlighted by the user. One can then, bold, italic, change heading level (h1-6), make bullet list, etc.

An interim approach might be to add common keyboard shortcuts for most formatting options or even better markdown syntax like in Trello that would supplement the 'sticky' formatting bar.

Then the formatter also puts the line above it into H2 as well. Need to upgrade the text editor.

This feature is available in full screen edit mode. Could it be available with ordinary editing view ?

A partial or complementary solution would be a contextual formatting menu appearing with a right mouse click or after text selection.
I usually need to include some large text (usually legal text) and the current way of accessing the formatting bar is really annoying.
