This would be a contact type different than Client/Prospect/Lead but would list vendors: people/companies that you buy good or services from. It should be something that lists basic contact info, but would also allow us to add what we paid them for and Mark/Connect as an option, to a specific project. We should be able to decide to let client see that purchase or not/bill the client and up charge if need be, and there should also be a way to send a bill to a vendor. That way, we could generate expense reports for the end of the year for our business. Sample Uses: -I buy supplies for my business, I track that as an expense, upload a receipt, and use the store as a vendor. -I buy a plug-in for a client project. I track that company as a vendor, connect the expense to my client’s project. They see and are billed for the plug-in. -I sub-contract a part of a clients project to a third party. The third party is a vendor. I give them access to the task they are part of. On my end, I see how much they charged me, but in the clients end they see what I am charging them for it (usually slightly up charged from sub-contractor). In reports, I can do expense reports, reports by expense type, vendor, etc. I should also be able to add vendors to circles and message them from within the system.

I work with many different carriers, vendors, partner agencies, and processing banks and I would like to keep all that data in suitedash along with client/prospect stuff. This would be a highly valuable option to expand platform usability and remove the need for a separate process and duplicate entry in another system only for these types of contacts/companies/organizations.

The current solution is not useable. A vendor acts more like a Staff member then a Client, but with limited insight. So it would make more sense to add then to the 'side' and limit their permissions rather then treat them as a client, which just is just confusing.

Vendor / Supplier or "Other" role is important. Contacts that are not clients and do not fit into the sales funnel, but need to be stored in the CRM. This addition "role" would allow these Non-Clients to be stored in the Suite Dash CRM without the need of using a 2nd third party CRM for vendors. The work arounds I have been suggested for the last few months can be confusing to staff. It seems the path of least resistance would be an additional CRM role that is not a client.

Vendor exclusive category is very important for our business as well. Will this be a consideration for a future enhancement?

Hi all, you should be able to use the new Custom Field Categories feature to create users that can be used as Vendors.
You would add them with Client role, but use a completely different set of Custom Fields to describe them & store information.
It may not be a perfect fit for some of the use cases you have in mind, but this new option opens up a lot of possibilities in this direction.

Thx it’s a good standby fix, but can a true Vendor Role be considered for the future?

Yes, agreed! I don't want to see vendors as clients, as that can cause confusion. I won't need to necessarily communicate with vendors through SuiteDash, but I do need to keep track of them.

Plus one on this! I utilize vendors in the completion of tasks and not staff, we pay them flat rates for the task in the field. Need be able see the project/task it was assigned to vendor who charges x amount and be able process payment to the vendor when the invoice is paid by client.
